Introduction

In a world that increasingly shifts between extremes, we remain steadfast in the pursuit of our purpose. We deliver impact for clients through transformational engagements, upholding a consistent commitment to responsible business at the same time.

Being a responsible business means that we aim to:

  • Minimise our negative impact on the environment, with particular focus on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions;

  • Enhance the overall positive impact we have on the people on whom we depend;

  • Maintain and strengthen the trust placed in us by clients and wider society.

The table on the previous page summarises the main results of our sustainability activities in the past financial year. These outcomes reflect the diligent work and proactive stewardship of the internal teams responsible for managing our sustainability agenda. We are particularly proud of progress we made in the area of climate, with the transition to fully electric vehicles almost at 100%, the continuous attention for and results of our inclusion agenda, and the appreciation we receive from our clients in our pursuit of quality. For further details on our approach, policies, actions, targets and outcomes, please refer to the sections addressing our material sustainability topics in the chapters ahead.

Compared with the previous year, we have removed the section titled ‘Emerging impacts’. Information on sustainable procurement and our human rights approach is now included in a new section on Sustainability due diligence within the chapter General information (previously: Basis of reporting) of this Sustainability statement.

In our previous reports, we have provided information on our Mangrove reforestation project in Curacao. We are currently assessing the results of this pilot project to determine how best to proceed.

As set out in our business model (see page 16), people and relationships are central to our impact and success. Accordingly, most of our material sustainability topics concern people and behaviours. At the same time, we acknowledge the scientific consensus that human activity accelerates climate change. For this reason, climate and CO2 remain a central element of our sustainability strategy as well.
